I like Bright Eyes a lot lately. As music and as poetry. Does Conor Oberst remind anyone of a young Townes Van Zandt, or is it just me?
Good call. That never occurred to me, but when I listen to Landlocked Blues and a few others, it’s undeniable.
I felt the same way when a journalist compared Hayden to Neil Young. I’m not a big Neil Young fan, but I could definitely appreciate the similarity.

I can’t get into Bright Eyes, but Oberst seems to have inherited Elliot Smith’s reputation.
