A great Speech by Neil Postman:Informing Ourselves To Death. Unfortunately, I resemble those remarks to a certain extent.
Every technology creates winners and losers. Information technology is no exception. The technology is of great use to the winners, while doing little to improve the everyday lives of the "losers" I guess I qualify as a winner with respect to computers and the Internet. But what is my responsibility as a winner to the losers? How can computer technology really improve the lives of the non-tech classes? By bringing folks together, that’s how. Information doesn’t help everyday people all that much, but bringing people together who would not ordinarily share information will help.
Something to think about as I try to plan what my future career aspirations will be.
